CHERRY CHAU ’s biography
Cherry Chau’s dynamic and engaging founder
and designer Cherry says she finds her imaginative designs – from
cut glass crystals and semi-precious stones combined with tulle, silver
or leather to velvet flowers and feathered butterflies – ‘enable
a woman to express her personality and transform her moods!’ She
treasures her reputation for creating accessories that are at once wearable,
fun and exquisite but above all unique.
Her eclectic work reflects her exotic travels
and adventures in creativity, ranging from glass blowing in Venice to
blacksmithing in Tennessee. Her cultural influences are diverse: born
in Hong Kong, Cherry now divides her time between her company base in
Paris and her husband’s ancestral castle in Normandy.
Cherry studied French language and literature
at Lausanne in Switzerland at 16. She then attended the London College
of Fashion, taking extra classes in millinery and embroidery. Cherry
first began jewellery-making at Camden Arts Centre and has been pursuing
this instinctive talent ever since.
Since launching in 1992, her work has achieved
global recognition and yet unassuming Cherry describes her attitude as ‘happy-go-lucky’ and
laughs ‘I have never had any business sense!’. Her more characteristic
designs include tiaras, necklaces, and brooches.
Cherry presents in her Cherry Chau shops her
own creations as well as her selection of the best designs she has scouted
all over the world. As a result Cherry Chau shops are the perfect place
to snap up dazzling feather and lace accessories, diamante clips, delicate
beaded combs, blooming hair bands, intricate tiaras and a covetable selection
